The Film and Storytelling Community of New York, alongside The Youth Story Project is excited to announce their film, screenwriting/story festival, focused on climate change (and social justice topics). We’re seeking original and compelling stories that highlight the impact of climate change on communities and its people.
We support underserved voices from marginalized communities in New York, Hollywood, California, and the Caribbean, with a passion for film and stories, aiming to amplify diverse perspectives through the art of film and storytelling.
Our community is a space where artists can unite, create with confidence, collaborate with like-minded individuals, and bring impactful stories to life driving social change.
Join our WhatsApp Group to connect and collaborate with writers, directors, producers, actors, and artists from all walks of life.
Open to: Youths and adults in the New York, California, & The Caribbean
Prize: $1,000 USD Cash Prize and the winning script/story will be produced into a short film, submitted to festivals, and screened in the New York Community, and in Hollywood, CA.
Theme: Climate change and its impact on communities
Submission Starts: Wednesday, September 24th, 2025
Submission Ends: December 24th, 2025
Winner Selection: December 27th, 2025
No Entry Fee: Submit your short script, film, or story for free!
· Short script/story: 10 scenes or less
(approx. 10-15 pages)
· Focus on climate change theme but other themes are welcomed.
· Completed scripts, short films, and stories only
(no treatments or outlines)
· The winning screenplay or story will be developed and produced by The Film and Storytelling Community of New York, directors and producers, alongside the writer of the winning story
· In addition, we will be seeking talented actors and crew members from our community to collaborate and bring the winning screenplay or story to screen
· Opportunity for emerging and unrepresented artists to collaborate and showcase their talents to the world
